Panel & service upgrades

Plan electrical panel and service upgrades around the equipment you have, the work you are planning, and the capacity your home actually needs.

Talk about your project
Wiring and electrical components inside an open electrical panel.

THE RIGHT STARTING POINT

Make room for what comes next.

A renovation, heat pump or EV charger can prompt a closer look at the electrical system. A full panel and an undersized service are different issues; the right recommendation begins with the existing setup and the proposed loads.

01 / PLANNING THE WORK

The existing system

Review the panel, service equipment and planned additions together before defining replacement or upgrade work.

02 / PLANNING THE WORK

The next addition

Include chargers, heating equipment, kitchens, additions and other planned changes in the same conversation.

03 / PLANNING THE WORK

The installation plan

Discuss equipment location, access, utility coordination and any interruption to power as part of the proposed scope.

BEFORE WE TALK

Bring the idea.
Start with these details.

You do not need to choose all the equipment first. A few practical details help frame the conversation.

  1. 01Your town and the equipment you want to add
  2. 02A photo of the closed panel and its visible label, if accessible
  3. 03Any renovation drawings or future equipment plans

COMMON QUESTIONS

What to know
before you start.

Does an EV charger automatically require a service upgrade?

No. The existing electrical capacity, proposed equipment and available installation options need to be reviewed before an upgrade is recommended.

Can the panel move to a different location?

Possibly. Tell us why you want to relocate it and share the proposed location. Access, wiring routes and the existing installation affect the scope.

Can you price an upgrade from one photograph?

A photo is a useful starting point, but it cannot show every condition. The estimate needs to reflect the actual service, equipment, access and coordination involved.
